TOP BSB rider, Josh Brookes, will complete at the 2013 Isle of Man TT.
Brookes has revealed his intentions to race with Tyco Suzuki as part of a three-man team in the Superstock and Superbike class at next year's TT.
In an interview with BikesportNews Brookes said: “I’m doing the TT because I want to do it. I’m not worried about people thinking I’m mental because they do that anyway. I’ve wanted to do the TT since I first went there in 2009. I have asked about it ever since and now is the first opportunity I’ve had to actually do it, so I’m going to do it." said Brookes.
Brookes says he has no expectations but curiously followed up by saying he wants to do better than what he thinks people expect of him: "I'm glad it's out in the open now as all the question about whether I was going to ride or not - and not being able to say anything - was getting a bit tiring. Since making the decision I've taken in some reconnaissance trips and spoken to a number of influential people. I fell in love with the place on my first visit back in 2009 and now that I'm with what I regard as the best team at the event in Tyco Suzuki - it gives me peace of mind. It's too early to be setting any goals. It's the beginning of a new project and we'll just see how it goes."
Brookes burst onto the world's road-racing radar in 2004 when he won a World Supersport round at Phillip Island as a 'wildcard'. Brookes has raced at over 100 BSB meetings, winning 11 and standing on the podium in 50. He finished runner-up in this year's British Superbike Championship, taking four wins along the way.
