Shoei brings evolution to GT-Air 3, Neotec 3 motorcycle helmets

Two new Shoei touring helmets - the Neotec 3 and GT-Air 3 - have been launched, with ventilation among the most significant improvements.

Shoei Neotec 3

Two new helmets have been launched by Shoei - the new Neotec 3 and GT-Air 3 models.

As you probably worked out from the number at the end of the names of both helmets, the Neotec 3 and GT-Air 3 are both third-generation models in their respective lines.

Both helmets feature updated visuals and ventilation compared to previous generations, as well as developed communications systems via Shoei’s collaboration with Sena. The Shoei AIM (Advanced Integrated Matrix) is also implemented in the shell construction of both helmets.

Shoei Neotec 3

The Neotec 3 is Shoei’s latest edition of its established modular, or flip-up, design. Homologated to ECE 22.06 standards with the chin bar both raised and lowered, the Neotec 3 also offers an internal sun visor, an all-day comfort liner, and an integrated communications system.

The external visor is new in this third-generation model. The Neotec 3’s CNS-3C Visor features a central locking system and improvements to the air-tight seal over previous editions; while the gap between the face cover and main shell has been reduced to minimise the airflow through the helmet when the front is closed.

Inside the helmet, the cheek pads are modified, offering a reduction in noise thanks to the ‘noise isolator’, while the micro ratchet chinstrap is newly designed.

The ventilation is also customisable, thanks to multi-positionable vents.

Neotec 3 pricing (available now):

  • SRP Plain Black/White - £589.99
  • SRP Plain Matt Metallic - £619.99
  • SRP Graphic - £679.99

The Shoei Neotec 3 will be available in sizes XS-XXL split over three shell sizes.

Shoei GT-Air 3

Moving onto the GT-Air 3, we find some similarities to the Neotec 3, with the internal sun visor and micro ratchet strap. The visor is different, being a CNS-1C, but it does have central locking.

Being a full-face touring helmet, ventilation is perhaps more important in the GT-Air 3’s category than any other, and so that has been a major focus for Shoei in the design and construction of this helmet.

New intakes and exhaust ports have been developed in Shoei’s own wind tunnel to improve the efficiency of the airflow. Operation of the vents has also been improved when wearing gloves, and the vents’ design has been changed to allow for better distinction between their open and closed positions.

Additional updates on the Shoei GT-Air 3 include:

  • New narrow chin vent to improve noise performance and style
  • Larger chin curtain to prevent wind ingress
  • New compact communication attachment
  • Now ECE 22.06 certified

Shoei GT-Air 3 pricing (available mid-October 2023):

  • SRP Plain Black/White £479.99
  • SRP Plain Matt/Metallic £499.99
  • SRP Graphic £589.99

The Shoei GT-Air 3 will be available in three different shell sizes from XS-XXL.
