LS2 has released a new textile motorcycle jacket, the Metropolis 3-Season Jacket, offering suitable protection for a range of conditions.
The LS2 Metropolis 3-Season Jacket is LS2’s latest ‘all-weather’ jacket, aimed at unifying the wearer’s protection against the elements into one option.
Additionally, its ‘Metropolis’ name indicates its urban suitability, but it is also “built to take you well beyond the city limits,” LS2 says.
To combat the rain, the Metropolis 3-Season Jacket features a fixed, waterproof membrane. Additionally, this membrane is breathable, to prevent the build up of sweat.
There is also a thermal liner, offering protection from the cold, which is removable for when the temperatures rise. Furthermore, there are vents on the arms and back of the jacket to increase the ventilation in warmer temperatures.
In terms of practicality, there are six pockets on the jacket, including one which is dedicated to holding the wearer’s phone. That is located on the inside of the jacket, along with one other pocket, while there are two on the chest, and two more on the front.
All the pockets and elemental protection in the world is no good on a motorcycle jacket if that jacket does not also have sufficient protection. To this end, the Metropolis 3-Season Jacket is AA-rated to the EN17092 standard for motorcycle clothing, and comes with removable CE Level 1 soft ‘slow bounce’ shoulder and elbow protectors. These are movable within the jacket’s sleeves for tailoring to each person’s requirements. A CE Level 2-approved back protector can also be added at the cost of £29.99.
In men’s sizes, the jacket is available in two colour options: “Black”, and “Khaki/Blue/Fluo Orange”, while in women’s sizes only the black option is available.
As for the sizes themselves, S-5XL are available in the men’s cut, and XS-5XL are available in the women’s cut.
