HERE'S A new-for-2011 bike that you might have missed – the Suzuki GW250, which was launched late last year at the CIMA show in China.

Mostly unnoticed by the European press, the bike is actually a production version of the much-speculated “mini B-King”, details of which have been leaking from Suzuki for the last couple of years. With 26bhp from its injected parallel twin engine and a weight of around 180kg it's roughly on a par with similarly-sized bikes like Kawasaki's Ninja 250R, albeit with a less sporty style.

There has also been speculation for years that Suzuki will build a GSX-R250, similar in concept to the Ninja 250R and Honda CBR250R – this new engine could be the perfect basis for such a bike.

At the moment, little is know about Suzuki's plans for the bike but there's speculation that it will be offered in Europe in 2012 – it would certainly sit neatly alongside the GSR750.
