THERE won't be a Speed Triple 1200, according to Simon Warburton, Triumph's Product Manager.

In a recent interview with Visordown, when asked about the possibility of a Speed Triple powered by the same engine as the new Tiger Explorer, Warburton said: "I'm glad I've got the opportunity to clear this up! Quite simply [if we used the 1215 engine from the Tiger Explorer] it wouldn't be a very good Speed Triple. It's too big, it's too slow revving, it doesn't have the right character at all. The Speed Triple needs an exciting engine and with the 1215 engine it would be like building a [BMW] K1300R which is not what we want to do."
