The MV Agusta Dragster SCS America is a tribute from the Italian manufacturer to the US, and its motorcycling culture.
The US market is one of which MV Agusta has recognised the importance since the 1970s. In 1973, the Italian manufacturer launched the 750SS, featuring the red, white, and blue of the US flag in tribute to the country.
Since then, other MV Agusta motorcycles have taken the colours of the US, including the 2004 Brutale 750, and 2012 Brutale 1090 RR, which, at the time, was the most powerful naked bike to be produced by MV Agusta.
Now, six years after the most recent ‘America’ edition bike from MV Agusta (on that occasion, the 2017 Brutale 800 RR), the legendary Italian marque is launching the MV Agusta Dragster SCS America.
Available in only 300 units, the individual number being lasered into the top of the triple clamp, the Dragster SCS America features again the red, white, and blue, as well as the words “America Special Edition” hand-stitched into the seat.
The new special edition bike also has a ‘Special Parts Kit’, including a transparent SCS clutch cover, dedicated motorcycle cover, and a certificate of authenticity.
Some special parts are also available as accessories, such as the Akrapovič titanium sports exhaust with dedicated ECU, giving an increase in maximum power to 148hp.
Based of course on the MV Agusta Dragster SCS, the new ‘America’ edition will feature the Rekluse-developed SCS auto-clutch that gives the bike from which it is derived its name. Additional features include ride–by-wire throttle, counter-rotating crankshaft, six-axis IMU, and an eight-level adjustable steering damper.
Unfortunately for everyone outside of the US and Canada, the MV Agusta Dragster SCS America will only be marketed in North America, where it will be available from MV Agusta dealers from 11 July. Locate your nearest dealer on the MV Agusta website.
