Honda Dax ‘glittering’ in new 2024 look

The Honda Dax is visually refreshed for 2024, with an all-new paint scheme coming to the popular 125cc minibike that was revived last year

A new paint scheme is coming to the Honda Dax (or ST125 Dax to give it its full designation) for 2024, as well as an update to the Honda CB125F.

The Honda Dax returned to the Japanese brand’s range in 2024 for the first time in over four decades (41 years, to be precise), and it remains for 2024, and was a popular hit of nostalgia.

For 2024, the technical base for the motorcycle remains the same as last year, with the air-cooled 125cc SOHC 4-stroke 2-valve motor producing just over 9bhp, and 8lb ft; while the chassis comprises a T-shaped pressed steel frame, with a 31mm upside down front fork and twin rear shocks providing suspension each to a 12-inch wheel. Single brake discs front (220mm) and rear (190mm) are hydraulically operated, with that operation aided by single-channel ABS.

The change for the Dax in 2024 is a new ‘Pearl Glittering Blue’, colour, which joins the existing ‘Pearl Nebula Red’ and ‘Pearl Cadet Grey’ from last year.

The 2024 Honda ST125 Dax is set to arrive in European dealers in December.

Another updated Honda 125cc in 2024 is the CB125F, which gets a new muffler for 2024, 45mm shorter than previous years. It is also blacked out - along with the exhaust downpipe, fork lowers and wheels - as part of new styling for the bike, and features a chrome heat shield.

A new pillion grab handle is also added to the specification this year, which is unchanged on a technical level. The 124cc motor produces 11bhp and 8lb ft, while the tubular steel chassis is suspended by a 30mm telescopic fork and five-stage preload-adjustable twin rear monoshocks. 18-inch wheels are placed at both ends, with single a single 230mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum brake providing stopping power.

Two new colours - ‘Imperial Red Metallic’ and ‘Matt Marvel Blue Metallic’ - are also included for 2024, along with the simple ‘Black’ colour from previous years. The 2024 Honda CB125F is expected in dealers in January of next year.
