HONDA’S new CR-E electric motocross bike has taken to the track for the first time since being announced at the Tokyo Motorcycle show last month.

The bike, which borrows frame and cycle parts from the Honda CR-F 450, uses a scaled down version of the Shinden TT racer’s motor and features liquid cooling to keep everything running smoothly.

With no official word from Honda as to whether the bike will make it to full production, this first run in public at least confirms that the machine is more than just a show pony.
