MV Agusta has become the latest high-profile manufacturer to book their place at the returning 2021 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan.
The event - regarded as a key date in the motorcycle calendar - will open its doors again in November after being forced to take a hiatus in 2020 as a result of COVID-19.
With EICMA the scene of the industry’s most high-profile motorcycle launches across a three-day exhibition, last year’s pause prompted manufacturers to take their unveilings online with a litany of new machinery showcased over a period of two months.
With manufacturers getting to choose when and how to reveal their 2021 MY ranges, it was feared this more flexible, curated approach would become the norm thereafter.
However, manufacturers have since been confirming their presence, with Yamaha and Ducati both recently announcing they will be present and correct in Milan on November 25 - 28.
MV Agusta is the latest to green light its showstand, with CEO Timur Sardarov promises a ‘surprise’ when it arrives.
“The Milan show is an unmissable fixed appointment for MV Agusta, a showcase of great prestige in which to express the style and strength of our Made in Italy, made of technology and engineering. avant-garde, but also of high craftsmanship and know-how acquired in 75 years of pure passion.
“At EICMA, over the years, we have presented our most important innovations to the world, and this year too we will not fail to surprise and win over fans and experts.”
What could MV Agusta reveal at EICMA 2021?
MV Agusta’s presence at EICMA comes as no surprise, the company - despite its size relative to the likes of Yamaha, Honda and Ducati - often proving one of the biggest attractions with its premium exotica models.
In 2019 MV Agusta was still in the midst of Sardarov’s big money take over from the existing Castiglioni dynasty so made do with showing the limited edition, ultra exclusive Brutale 1000 Rush.
Since then MV Agusta has restructured on the back of fresh investment, with Sardarov making some lofty claims about where he expects the company to be in the next five years.
So far it has resisted doing much more than updating the current range with fresh tech and Euro5 engines, but EICMA is surely the moment MV Agusta reveals something very special.
The smart money will be on the unveiling of the new generation MV Agusta F4, which is known to be in development, will be styled by Horacio Pagani - the CEO of the Pagani supercar company - and will spearhead a full factory return to the WorldSBK Championship.
