Yamaha to halt motorcycle production

Two-week factory shutdown for 11 facilities due to economic slump

YAMAHA MOTORS have announced the company is to halt production at 11 facilities due to the effects of the global economic recession.

The company said it would stop production for arund two weeks in February and March at facilities making motorcycles, recreational vehicles, marine sports vehicles and spare parts.

The news comes following an announcement that Honda is also to cut production at plants around the world, including motorcycle and motor car factories.
