Powys authorities want bikers to ARAF

FOLLOWING A 50% rise in accidents in the last twoo years, Powys Road Safety Partnership has launched a campaign aimed at speeding bikers.

The Partnership is to erect yellow road signs around many of the popular local biking routes with the hope it will remind riders that they could be killed or seriously injured if they ride recklessly. The signs give details of previous accidents throughout the county.

Councillor Gwilym Evans, who's in charge of road safety, stated that the county welcomed all visitors, but the council must ensure the highways are as safe as possible for all road users.

Ten motorcycle fatalities have occurred in the area in the last year.
