MOTORCYCLE deaths dropped in America last year, after more than a decade of increasing fatalities, it has been revealed.
Recent statistics show a 16 per cent drop in US motorcycle fatalities through the first nine months of 2009 compared to the same period in 2008.
The welcome drop has been partly attributed to the country's slowing economy, which has seen a decline in motorcycle sales.
In 2008, 5,290 motorcyclists were killed on the country's roads - the worst year in US history.
It makes you wonder how much the figure would drop if the US made helmets compulsory nationwide.
