A number of classic Suzuki race bikes, including two ex-Barry Sheene bikes, will be on display at the 2023 Ardingly Summer Show in July.

The Ardingly Summer Bike Show will host a display of numerous classic Suzuki motorcycles in its 2023 edition, including two ex-Barry Sheene race bikes.

Headlining the Suzuki line-up at the 2023 Ardingly Summer Show are two ex-Grand Prix Suzukis ridden by Barry Sheene. Both motorcycles are from 1973, one being the Seeley TR500 that took Sheene to titles such as the Shell Sport Championship and King of Brands, and the other being a Seeley TR500 Monocoque, which a press release from the show reports as the only original motorcycle of this type to have been ridden by Sheene.

A Suzuki TR750 XR11 ridden by Stan Woods in the 1975 Transatlantic Trophy will also be on display at Ardingly. Woods took first place at the Oulton Park leg of the Transatlantic Trophy that year, and was the only British rider to achieve such a result in the 1975 series.

Entries for bikes to be displayed at the event remain open. The Show says, in a press release, that “There is no age restriction on machines entered for display,” but that “post-1994 motorcycles are expected to be of interest.” Elk Promotions, the promoter of the event, has a form on its website that should be completed for anyone wishing to enter a bike for the display.

The 2023 Ardingly Summer Show is set for Sunday 30 July in the Jubilee Hall of the South of England Showground. Gates open to the public from 10am, and ticket prices have been frozen at the 2022 rate, meaning £7 for adults, while (accompanied) children under 16 go free. Parking is also free.

Early entry from 8:00–8:45am is also available, for £10. Tickets are available on the Elk Promotions website, or visitors can pay by card or cash at the gate.
