SPANISH firm Bottpower has released these images of a new cafe racer in development.

Called the XC1, it uses a 1203cc Buell Thunderstorm V-twin engine making 100hp, in a steel Bottpower frame.

It's based on a machine already developed, the XR1, a 'sports bike with flat tracker aesthetics' which the firm hopes to bring to the market this year.

The firm says on its website: 'In addition, we are going to create a cafe racer... Most of the parts will be the same for both bikes (XR1 and XC1) in such a way that a customer who owns a XR1 will be able to transform it into a XC1 just changing a few parts.

'The XC1 project is very advanced, in fact we are already building the first unit for a customer.... As we did with the XR1, the standard version will use rims, brakes and suspension from the donor Buell XB.'
