Man charged following horror smash

Motorcyclist in a wheelchair after being hit by a car allegedly on the wrong side of the road

A 26-YEAR old man has been charged with dangerous driving after a horror collision in Greater Manchester that left a motorcyclist with a fractured spine and other life-changing injuries.

Umair Qureshi, 26, of no fixed address, was in a Honda Civic which was allegedly racing a Mini at the time of the accident. Qureshi's car was alleged to have been on the wrong side of the road when it ploughed into 23-year old motorcyclist Christopher Sinclair.

Sinclair was thrown from his motorcycle and has been left wheelchair-bound with a spine fractured in three places and numerous broken bones. He is blind in one eye, his speech has been affected, and he no longer recognises his friends.

Umair Qureshi is due to appear before Manchester City magistrates on 15th August.
