KTM 1290 Super Adventure recalled

KTM HAS just announced a recall of 1290 Super Adventures made in 2015 and 2016 over the risk of an oil leak from the semi-active shock.

The firm says a plug could leak, impairing the shock's functioning, and that customers are being written to and asked to contact an authorised dealer to arrange an inspection and software update.

A statement from the firm said: 'Customers can check online to see if their motorcycle is affected by the recall in the "Service" area on the KTM website.

'During this review, all suspension control units (SCU) on the vehicles affected will be flashed with the latest software version for the shock absorber that comprises the newest development status. This check can only be carried out by authorised KTM street dealers and is completely free of charge.'
