A MOTORCYCLIST has appeared in court on a drink-driving charge after he attempted to ride a motorcycle having consumed eight pints of cider.

Christopher McManus, from Warndon, Worcestershire, was spotted by police trying to restart a stalled motorbike on June 27th this year.

McManus was breath tested by Police at the scene and arrested on suspicion of drinking and driving; he was later found to be more than double the legal limit.

In court, the 24-year-old pleaded guilty to driving while over the limit, having no insurance and driving without a licence. McManus was also in court for breaching a two-year community order.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Magistrates Court in August.
