Ducati product placement pays off

Survey reveals that the Ducati brand is nearly as recognisable as Apple.

Brandchannel tracks product placement in movies and their readers were asked to vote which brand was most memorable as a result.  Apple topped the charts, with Ducati sharing the second spot with Audi.

Tron Legacy, Wall Street 2, Knight and Day, Takers and The Expendables all featured bikes from the Bologna manufacturer. Although, to the trained eye, some scenes in the Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise movie Knight and Day used an Aprilia SXV550 mule in place of the heftier Hypermotard.

Ducati insists it does not pay for this product placement, with film producers simply wishing to make a statement by using the Ducati brand. With reference to Knight and Day, a Ducati representative said "The amount of feedback we’ve gotten from that film was incredible, easily the most in recent memory."
