A 14-YEAR-OLD moped rider has been stabbed to death following a collision with a car.

The boy was found with stab injuries on Bickley Road, Leyton, in Waltham Forest, at 18:30 GMT on Tuesday, and despite the best efforts of the London Ambulance Service died at the scene.

Detectives have established that the boy was riding a moped that had been involved in a collision with a car. They believe three males then got out of the car and stabbed the victim before returning to the vehicle and driving off.

The area remains cordoned off while enquiries continue. No arrests have yet been made.

The boy is one of the youngest victims of recent moped-related crime in the capital. His death comes shortly after the police announced a 56% year-on-year fall in moped crime, thanks to specialist operations and 'tackle tactics'.
