MOTORISTS will have to live with the '13' plate if they want a new vehicle next March.
Despite rumours that the DVLA would let people hang onto the '62' plate, they have been quashed. The DVLA have stated that every new vehicle will automatically carry a '13' plate after March 1st, 2013.
The motorcycle industry has been stirring over the plate for months, with some dealers claiming that an already tough sales climate will be made tougher with the number 13.
CAP, who produce vehicle valuation guides, said they didn't know whether the '13' plate affect the values of those vehicles on the used market, although they thought it unlikely.
Perhaps when it comes to motorcycles, bikers will opt out of buying a bike in the first-half of the year or they'll opt for a personalised number-plate instead.
