Yamaha develop CVT transmission for enduro bikes

More power, less fuel consumption and a wider powerband - sounds good to us

Yamaha's enduro bike CVT

ACCORDING TO top American technology website, Gizmag, Yamaha is developing a constantly variable transmission version of its enduro bikes.

At least, that's what it looks like given the firm's recent patent applications for the United States.

The CVT means a gearbox that can handle more power, deliver less fuel consumption and give an almost infinite number of gear options. If Yamaha can get the computer brain working with the CVT system it could mean the bike always being kept in the powerband whilst using as little fuel as possible - ideal for competitive enduro racing.
