SPANISH hoon Toni Elias has ruffled a few home-grown feathers by saying that
he expects Valentino Rossi to walk away with the win at this weekend's
MotoGP round at Jerez.
“Jerez is one of the circuits that just plays to Rossi's strengths. It is a
circuit that he likes and I have seen him ride very well at. I think that the
circuit will suit the Bridgestones this year too.
“I am sure that Jorge will be at the front too, but I think that Valentino'
s race will be very strong. He will be a strong candidate for the title this
year. He has not started the year very well but I think that it will turn
around for him in Jerez.”
The D'Antin Ducati rider has also praised the Yamahas of Rossi and Lorezno,
but added that he is getting to grips with his own bike, saying that he had
felt he was getting quicker: “Out on track I have been able to look very
closely at the Yamaha and its debut in the MotoGP this season and I think it looks
very well behaved on track.
“I am feeling better with my bike every time I go out on track with it. I
know that sooner or later I am going to find the pace to win races, because I
believe that we have good potential and that our development is going to
continue at the fastest possible pace.”
