BMW S1000RR to be unveiled late 2009

German bike manufacturer to keep the public waiting another year for their S1000RR superbike

Visordown Motorcycle News
Road-going version expected late 2009

THE ROAD-GOING version of BMW's new S1000RR superbike won't be making its debut at the Cologne Show this week, as the company are planning to release the hi-tech sportsbike towards the back end of 2009 for maximum impact.

But BMW can confirm the new bike will have ABS and traction control when it goes on sale. The company say orders for the new 180bhp machine can be placed from Spring 2009 onwards.

The race version, which went on show to the public a couple of months ago, will be ridden by Troy Corser and Rubens Xaus in next year's WSB series.

BMW sources say the road-going version will have a paintjob that closely resembles the bike above.
