You can start playing the video above while you read this article. The crash happens from 2m20s in.

Poor old Ryuichi Kiyonari and Jonathan Rea. The pair were racing for the  F.C.C TSR team and after the first stint, Kiyo has taken them to within six seconds off the lead, after coming back from 10th at the first corner. Rea set out on his first stint and brought the bike back in with a 23-second lead.

Kiyo just had to maintain the lead, a tough task but well within his ability. However, he crashed out on lap 58, probably on oil left from a Yamaha crashing on the same corner a lap earlier.

Despite getting the bike back to the pits, the team retired. On his Twitter page, Rea was to the point: "No words!".

That definatly looked like a small slither of oil.

BUT it was nice to see kiyo razzing the tits off a honda back at the front again.

What a shame Kiyonari was looking very cool, sliding the back, counter steering, getting kicked by slower riders. Oil on the white line?

Truly amazed that there is no way to see this race in full outside Japan. Shame' I'd love to see it.

Also, Suzuka is such a cool track, it should be used more.

gp's HAVE to return here! Obviously the Kato accident was terrible but surely the circuit must be safe for these guys to bomb around on it year after year? safer than laguna or indianapolis at least!
