2011 ZX-10R onboard lap.. worked out nice

If Kawasaki's traction control worked like my GoPro, I'd be in hospital right now..

I've been playing around with video cameras in the office here for a good year with varying degress of success.

The GoPro we use is great - when it's behaving. But I've had too many sessions where it doesn't like the SD card I fed it, the batteries die as you're leaving pit lane or you record a perfect lap, but with the camera pointing at the sky, or the tank. Doh!

So this is an example of a GoPro working well, onboard the 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R at Losail circuit in Qatar. Shame about the riding but you can't have it all..

Is it just the video camera playing tricks or does the rev counter strobe across to the left? It looks like a meteor trail? Cooollllll!!!!

Check if the SD card you're using is the right "Class" (4 or above should be fine) but if it's a class 2 then many high end devices don't like them anymore as they simply can't read/write at the required speed when the going gets tough (like when on the track)! Hope that helps, and nice one on the Losail mashing!

That's the camera playing sticks, the rev counter is left to right LED unit, but the camera makes it look quite trippy.

Thanks for the feedback Thomp, out GoPro doesn't like SD card bigger than 2GB, so we're on ultra-fast 1GB jobbies that seem to work..

That's messed. I use 16 gig and 8 gig cards with my GoPro HD's.

Sometimes I run Five onboard cameras per race.
