Of the hard core, European nutty supermotos, this is one of the more sensible options. That means it’s fast, firm and focussed but not stupidly so. Comfort and distance are not on the agenda but urban assault and stunting are. Like all KTMs it’s made with top quality components and materials

Reliability is good for a Euro ‘moto. This model and engine has been used in loads of KTM models including the Duke, the Adventure and LC4 Enduro and it’s tough if properly maintained.

Not cheap when new and it holds its value well on the used market but at least you won’t drop much when you sell it on. From 2005 onwards bikes redesign featured a pointier headlight.

What the f*** is the Suzi 400 doing here, it can't pull the skin off a rice pudding, and where the heck is the Husaberg FS650? It should be up at no1 or 2 as the baddest/best motard around for smiles. Ive just got one to try and relive my youth on tuned 350LC's and RG500's - its the bizz, a wicked bad ass complete fun machine, if you haven't ridden one yet you should asap, I had a 625SMC which was more like my old fizzer on comparison. Come on Visordown your research is lacking IMHO!

I agree. I test drove a DRZ400. It felt like a Honda 350 from the 70's. I bought new a 2001 Husaberg FE650e (wish I had bought the motard). Let me tell ya this thing is fast...and light 244lbs dry and that's with electric start. Hangs easily with any stock 600cc sportbike for the 1st 1/2 of a city block. 6 gears and will stand straight up in the 1st 4 just rolling on the throttle. With knobbies and a Scotts steering stabilizer it's a Cadillac on the dirt or in the mountains. Hand made in Sweden by the guys that used to build Huskies. It is the lightest and fastest open class 4 stroke ever made...Peace to you all. B~

husaberg fs 650 is the king of all motards,65hp stock or 70 hp just with exhaust mod weighing 109 kg,drz is like a thumpster compared, u cant compare.second is aprillia 550 makes more top end than the berg slightly but weighs 20 kg more and the berg also makes more torque, but being vtwin the aprillia will cost a fortune if something goes wrong,3rd would probably be the ktm 690 but weighs 150 kg so like a tank compared to the husaberg, but very reliable could ride this every day to work and back, nothing wrong with the bergs u just have to maintain them change oil every 5 hours oil filter every 10 hours, valve servive every 15 hours, its basic wounce u done it probably takes an hour at most even quicker aventually bike should get to 250 hours like this especially the 05 model -08 they have better stronger crank and stronger cases also better suspension. I own 06 fs 650 mint as all the trimmings low 55 hours wouldn't sell it for nothing.berg the best by 1000000 miles, buy one.why buy crf wr etc get something exotic that will be the most fun on a bike ever, I also have a yami r1 n the r1 don't intrest me like this machine.fs650 all the way ppl
