I always find it interesting that Rossi gets so much acclaim for Laguna. True, it was masterful to manage the whole race mistake free, but bragging about beating someone you admit is 1/2 a second a lap faster than you by using strategic blocking and chop passes just seems beneath someone with as much talent and outright speed as Rossi. Then again, he did win, so I guess you can't argue with the results. Of course, if someone 1/2 a second a lap slower than Rossi blocked and chopped him to a second place finish they would have run him out of MotoGp the same day. (Hell, Rossi tried to have Elias run out of town when he beat him with the same lap times, just because he dared not to back off in the braking zones!)
