FORMER World Supersport champion Kenan Sofuoglu has broken his ankle in a motocross training accident.
The 25-year-old Turk came to grief while out training in his home country on an off road bike. Sofuoglu has now been told by surgeons he'll be in plaster for the next three months.
“I do motocross three to four days a week during the winter to stay fit, but during training my ankle twisted around. I felt something was broken so I went to hospital. Doctors have told me to keep my foot in plaster for three months."
The injury looks like forcing the Ten Kate Honda man out of the official World Supersport tests at Portimao on January 22-24.
"I'll see what the doctors say in three weeks time," said a hopeful Sofuoglu.
