WSB: Toseland in Ten Kate talks

As the rumours grow stronger JT's now linked to firm negotiations with former WSB team

VISORDOWN'S WSB mole claims Britain's James Toseland has been in negotiations with his former WSB team, Ten Kate Honda, at this weekend's World Superbike meet at Donington Park.

Two weeks ago Visordown gave you the heads up that the two-time world champion was seriously considering a return to WSB, following his string of lacklustre performances in MotoGP. That said, Toseland broke from his run of bad form to bag an impressive sixth at this weekend's Dutch TT.

Ten Kate's team boss, Ronald Ten Kate, has publicly said he would welcome Toseland back into his squad with open arms.

I'd rather see JT winning in WSB than struggling in MotoGp. It would be excellent to see Rae and Toseland in a team together. I wonder who would end up on top?

I think that Carlos would be the one to get the boot: Mr 7th place!

Personally, I'd sooner see him persevere with MotoGP. He did a lot of things right in WSB and triumphed big time. Now he has found he has to work hard to get mediocre results from a not-so-great team who have all taken half the season to figure out who might want what and from who. Lets face it, Edwards has done him no favours at all.

Hopefully, the results seen last weekend at Assen will be built upon and James will enjoy some success before the season ends.

I really don't think he should quit so soon into his MotoGP career.

I'm sorry to say but I'm not a great fan of Jame's ... Give him his due's he's a tryer ... Did not Honda give him a try out on one of there work's bike's ... The tussle with Rossy when Rossy came off and he held him back for a few lap's ... And the last GP race ... Are the high spot's of his GP raceing ... I can't ever see him winning a GP race ... Unless something happen's to his skill level's, bike, or the pack in front of him all come off ... Will alway's be in the high single or low double figer's or the GP world ... Is it better to be an also ran in with the big boy's ... Or King in WSB ? ... Only he will know ...

I'd like to see him give it another 2-3 seasons.

Yes, you're only as good as your last performance etc

But there are many riders in the GP grid who never get much higher than around the 10th position and come back year after year.

It wouldn't be much of a race with only the top 6 or 7 on the grid. And there's always the bad-luck monkey that affects teams, riders etc. I think JT only needs a run of decent 'non-bad' luck and that will do his confidence a power of good, not to mention the team.

Perhaps he's only seeing what's on offer nearing the end of the year, don't forget his two year contract is near-end and this is the time of season where ALL riders start planning for the next year.

Perhaps he'll decide closer to the time to stay on-board with Tech 3 or jump ship to another team, but personally I can't see the glory in going back to WSB until he makes his mark in MotoGP?

WSB is crawling with talent now and I don't think it's gonna be a simple case of returning to WSB and blowing everyone away.

That said, I'd so love to see him take on J Rea, Spies, Byrne & co.

Hayden, Edwards and Toseland in WSB. That's my wishlist for 2010. Can't help but think Hayden would smash it in WSB on a Ducati and let's face it, he's not going to win a world championship again in MotoGP..
