PLENTY OF rumours on the World Superbike scene right now that New Zealand is to appear on the WSB calendar as of 2012.

It's reported in the bike racing media that Hampton Down Circuit is in the frame to host a round of the 2012 World Superbike Championship, following last week's announcement that Phillip Island will continue running the Australian round of the series until at least 2014.

Plans are afoot to lengthen the 2.8 kilometre circuit by another 1,000 metres, to bring the track in line with FIM homologation rules.

With most New Zealanders now living in Australia, why waste the money ? Just change the Aussi flags  at Philip Island to a Kiwi ones for one weekend a year. Oh, and the beer . Philip Island is much better track anyway.
