WSB Blades go 2013-spec

New colours for Johnny Rea and co this weekend

HONDA isn't hanging about and just days after revealing its 2013 colour options for the FireBlade it's going to be racing in the new tricolour scheme at Magny Cours this weekend.

It will be a one-off appearance for the new paint job, with the season coming to an end and the Ten Kate-operated team taking on the colours of title sponsor – Italian snack firm Pata – in next year's championship.

This weekend's paint job also previews the mandatory headlight stickers that next year's bikes will have to run under updated regulations.

I really hate these fake headlights they have to run. Seriously, how many people do they think will guy a bike because they remember the headlights?

I kinda get why they want the fake headlights but Anthony is right, its not going to have any impact on wether somebody buys a bike or not. But from my personal point of view i think they actually look pretty cool.

When you read the press release about why they do it, the whole theory behind it is win on sunday sell on monday. The thing is there are two kinds of people in this world, total and completely consumed bike junkies like us who are motorcycles 24/7 and then there are people don't give a hoot. Most of us can probably see a headlight in our rear view mirror and guess the make model correctly 90% of the time. The other people, they can't remember brand names let alone the silhouette of a particular motorcycle. If a person can't tell an r6 from a 1198 looking at them side by side, how are they going to remember the headlights of the bike that got the checkerd's when they are on the dealer floor two weeks later.

I am all for it.
The headlight helps to further reinforce that these are road bike based rides...

it makes paint schemes easier to transfer to road bikes too :)

I hear they're going to have madatory fake child seats & roof racks in the touring cars so why not on the bikes?... fake Givi luggage anyone?... or an inflatable pillion?
