Toseland linked to provisional Ten Kate ride

JT to Hannspree, Spies to stick with Yamaha - find out who's going where in next year's WSB series

Toseland
JT to race again in World Superbikes?

ACCORDING to the WSB rumour-mill, James Toseland already has a provisional place promised to him in the Ten Kate squad for 2010.

The news is doing the rounds ahead of any announcement by the Tech 3 Yamaha MotoGP team about the Brit’s future. The squad's boss, Ronald Ten Kate, has already said he would welcome JT back into the team with 'open arms'.

Which puts the shuffle-for-seats like this: Yamaha 2010, Ben Spies and Leon Camier, Ten Kate Toseland and Rea (Kiyonari stays on the HRC-moneyed Blade), Brux Suzuki, Tom Sykes and Max Neuikirchner, Stiggy switches from Honda to Yamaha and Leon Haslam stays with them.

As was exclusively revealed on visordown.com a month ago, Spies is believed to have had a clause in his Yamaha contract that said that if Jorge Lorenzo did leave Yamaha then he was assured of the ‘satellite’ ride in MotoGP, albeit on pukka factory kit in a privateer’s colours.

Since Lorenzo is know staying at Yamaha, it sounds as if Spies will remain in WSB for 2010.

What difference does it make it Lorenzo is still with the factory team if Spies' contract says he is to go to a private team? There's something not right with this - isn't the whole private team first rule a new introduction and would the timing of Spies' contract  and the introduction of the new rule tie up? & what if Rossi leaves but Lorenzo stays?

WHAT? what the heck does it matter what Lorenzo does, if JT is leaving to WSBK it still leaves an unfilled seat at Tech 3............... What am I missing here?
