TROUBLED World Superbike and Supersport squad Stiggy Honda Racing has announced the team are to withdraw from the Superbike and Supersport World Championships in 2010.
Following months of speculation, Stiggy have pulled the plug on next year's racing programme due to the team's struggling financial situation.
Stiggy has had mixed fortunes in 2009: British ace Leon Haslam finished the season in sixth place in the championship, while team-mate John Hopkins suffered an injury-plagued year, ending 2009 with just 17 points.
Despite Haslam's success, Visordown reported the news earlier this year the Brit was at loggerheads with Stiggy over mounting unpaid wages. Our BSB man was told Haslam had given the team an ultimatum: "Pay me or I'm not racing." Read the full story here.
Haslam has since signed with the Alstare Suzuki squad, partnering Sylvain Guintoli in next year's series.
