OUTGOING MOTOGP man Chris Vermeulen has signed to ride for Kawasaki in the 2010 World Superbike Championship.

The Australian, who currently lies 11th in the MotoGP World Championship, has been dropped by the Rizla Suzuki squad in favour of 250cc star Alvaro Bautista.

Vermeulen said prior to signing the deal:

"The Kawasaki deal looks good. We've talked a lot about details and how it could work and we have agreed the money."

"The main objective would be to win the championship in 2011 with the new bike. But that does not mean that we would not try it next year. Kawasaki has a really good plan."
