JOHN HOPKINS has been declared fit to make his return at his home round at Miller Motorsports Park later this month.

Hopper was sidelined after suffering a broken bone in his right foot and an injury to his left hip in high-side at Monza.

He had hoped to be fit for the Donington Park round last weekend, but his hip injury restricted his movement on the Crescent Suzuki.

Returning to California, Hopkins visited a specialist to undergo further scans to diagnose the extent of the injury - thankfully no significant long-term damage had been sustained in the hip joint and he was given the all-clear for Miller.

The Crescent Suzuki rider will still need painkillers to make the grid. He said: “I was so disappointed to miss Donington Park, where I’m sure I could have been in that crazy fight for the win! It’s been a really rough ride physically over recent times, and there were some real worries over the hip condition, but I know I have a lot more to give and that my luck has to change for the better."

Crescent Suzuki team manager, Jack Valentine added: "I know it will be difficult for him as he will have to overcome the pain, but there will be no pressure from us and John’s a tough cookie as recent history has shown!”
