First shot of Toseland testing his WSB Yamaha YZF-R1

Britain's JT gets cracking with his WSB future as he tests the bike he'll be hoping to win the championship with next season

JAMES TOSELAND is at Portimao, Portugal, testing out his new World Superbike Yamaha YZF-R1, just days after Ben Spies wrapped up the WSB championship.

Toseland has been at work getting used to the bike and the track, making basic setting changes and riding position adjustments to get comfortable with the bike rather than go for outright lap times.

Our man at the track has said that even though Toseland has never ridden at Portimao, he was on the pace within just 10 laps, lapping within a couple of seconds of the rest of the pack. You can see the Portimao WSB test times here.

......  he may not have won any GP's but he was consistant and tried.

I would like to see you ride one of those machines and only be a second and half off the pace of the likes of Rossi, Ped and Loro....

I wish him good luck and thanks for keeping the Brit flag flying in bike racing circles which is more than Auntie can manage.

I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
