Crutchlow linked to Belgarda WSB for 2010

Could Coventry-based Cal Crutchlow take Ben Spies' Yamaha WSB slot?

BRITISH ACE Cal Crutchlow will take Ben Spies' vacant slot at the Belgarda Yamaha WSBK team,  when the former AMA Superbike champ heads to MotoGP in 2010 - that's the rumour circulating the WSB paddock right now.

Visordown's source has informed us that Spies has inked a contract to partner fellow American Colin Edwards in next year's Tech 3 Yamaha squad, hence the vacant WSB slot. It's rumoured Crutchlow is the top man for the job, having shown impressive form all year on the World Supersport scene.

What that means for James Toseland is anyone's guess, but we've also heard a rumour the Sheffield-born rider will be riding in Tech 3's Moto2 squad in 2010…

Belgrada Yamaha? Is that the Serbian Yamaha squad then?

I'm wondering if Crutchlow might not have been better aiming for a Moto2 ride himself? It's going to be tough stepping in to Spies' shoes, though if anyone can do it then I would put my money on Cal.

They mean Sterilgarda Yamaha, bloody amateurs!....and we're supposed to believe what they're reporting, they're starting to make MCN look good.

The Dark Knight

Belgarda is the team's original and still used name. They are commonly known as Belgarda. They run out of Yamaha Italy but as Belgarda the team is managed by Maio Meregalli.

They are called Sterilgarda because that's the sponsor name. The team is Belgarda and thats whats been put at the top of the contract for Cal to sign

I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
