NEWLY CROWNED British Superbike Champion Leon Camier is to replace injured Shinya Nakano on the Aprilia RSV4 Factory for the remaining two rounds of the 2009 World Superbike Championship.

Camier has enjoyed a storming season in the BSB championship; the 22-year-old has taken 17 race victories on his Airwaves YZF-R1, as well as securing the manufacturer's title for Yamaha.

Reigning 250cc World Champion Marco Simoncelli stood in for Nakano on the Aprilia at Imola last weekend: the Italian scored a DNF and an impressive third.

Crash.net are reporting it as speculation rather than something definite, as it reads here.

I'll be very suprised if it happens...

superb i say another brit on the wsb circuit, GO FOR IT LEON. On his Yamaha contract, i think you will find he is contracted to gse & not yamaha direct.  this is a superb opportunity to put himself firmly in the shop window, or perhaps this is where he will be next year? Toseland & Cal Crutchlow to spear head yamaha wsb next year??? sykes to alstair suzuki,  its starting to get intresting eh!!

I hope this is true, I think Leon Camier is the next brit moto gp rider, and the Aprilia is closest thing to a gp bike (imho) so should stand him in good stead

He'll need to fold himself in half to fit on that bike.
