John McGuinness is set to miss both the North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT with a suspected broke leg after falling during the Superbike qualifying at the NW 200.
The Honda Racing rider, on the new Fireblade SP2’s road racing debut, came off at the Primrose section of the iconic 8.9-mile course during Thursday’s qualifying session. An update from the factory Honda team says the Morecombe Missile was ‘conscious and going to hospital with a suspected broken leg’.
Early indications are that it would rule him out of the Isle of Man TT in two weeks time which leaves Guy Martin as the sole rider for the official Honda Racing squad.
The session was red flagged and no further practice took place. The first three races of the event are due to take place on Thursday evening, with the opening Supersport, Superstock and Supertwins races.
