2009 USGP: Lorenzo wins, Rossi crashes out

ORGANISERS OF the 2010 Red Bull Indianapolis GP have lowered the ticket price for the 2010 event in a bid to boost attendance figures.

The race, which takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Aug. 27-29, has come in for a pricing restructure thanks to feedback over the last two years from race fans that have attended the annual event.

"This ticket plan will provide more opportunities for fans to attend this event and enjoy the exciting action and charismatic riders of MotoGP," said Jeff Belskus, Indianapolis Motor Speedway president and chief executive officer. "This new pricing and availability structure is based upon direct feedback we have received over the last two years from fans."

Depending on the type of ticket purchased, customers can expect a reductions of $10-25 per ticket over last year's prices. A three-day general admission ticket $60 (£35).

Wonder if they'll do the same at Silverstone for 2010?

I thought the three day ticket for '09 at $75 was a bargain! Sixty bucks is absolutely cheap!!

The addition of and individual race day ticket is a step in the right direction (you had to buy the three day ticket to get in on race day previously) but they missed the boat by not offering an inexpensive race day "family pass".  When you are trying to grow an event, especially one that in not a mainstream US sporting event, offer up a cheap buy in for the local families and turn them into fans...

For any Euro based fans coming over or thinking of coming over for the races... and I hope you do... be sure and do a web search on info about the AMA Indy mile flat track races run on Saturday night of the weekend... A unique form of racing and it really should be taken in... It just caps off a great weekend of racing...

I had fun talking with the overseas fans that came over and was pleased with the positive feedback they gave about the good time they were having...  Indianapolis and the speedway do a great job hosting the event... Looking forward to going back in '010!

Talkback: 2014 'MotoGP' Suzuki could be next GSX-R1000
I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
