This is Rossi's Ducati Desmosedici GP12

Valentino Rossi Tweets a shot of his new bike at Sepang

by Visordown News

VALENTINO ROSSI has revealed his new Ducati Desmosedici GP12 ahead of the first test at Sepang.

The '90% new' Desmosedici was Tweeted by Rossi himself along with the statement that the 'new bike is ready', in anticipation of the Italian's first laps on board the GP12 tomorrow.

When compared with the GP0 design from late last year, the aluminium frame looks different as the shape appears to be a semi-monocoque chassis design, running up and over the engine rather than around the sides.

Ducati have brought both the all-new prototype, that has been dubbed 'the Phoenix', along with the bike that Rossi tested at Valencia, so the factory team can run back-to-back tests between the two versions.

Are the tests on TV anywhere?

Pagik
No, the only place you can catch the testing is motogp.com. It starts at 01:00 GMT tomorrow morning, hands up who else will be sitting in front of their laptop bleary eyed at 1AM.....

Big bulbous faring upper make it look like an old Aprilia 250...

Hands down I’m afraid Pagik... I can’t afford to give Dorna my cash... I’ll have to settle for keeping an eye on MotoMatters for intelligent updates as to what’s going on.

Do you know, I looked at it, and thought "that looks like something we've seen before", and you've hit the snail on the leg there mate. Does look like an Aprilia 250 dunnit!!

the frame and the basic shape of the tail unit remind me of an old SRAD 750 Gixxer

I think it looks shit hot. A motorcycle is such a work of art. Hope it goes as well, but that doesnt always correlate.

Didn't Ducati already post a statement yesterday saying this isn't the new "GP12 Phoenix" that everyone thought it was? Sorry to be a buzz-kill, but I think this posting is a little behind the curve...

I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
