A THIRD US MotoGP round could be in the pipeline after plans were revealed for a new circuit near Austin, Texas, with former 500cc world champion Kevin Schwantz advising planners about motorcycle racing at the proposed venue.
The new circuit is primarily being earmarked to host F1, with no solid confirmation that MotoGP will run at the venue, but Schwantz is assisting planners in an advisory role to the USGPF1 organisation, as a motorcycle consultant.
If given the all-clear the new circuit would join the two other US tracks, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, on the MotoGP calendar.
