Stoner out for 3 MotoGP races

Struggling former world champ ruled out of three races due to illness

Casey Stoner missing three MotoGP races

CASEY Stoner will be out of three MotoGP races, effectively ending any chance the former MotoGP World Champion has of winning this year's title.

Stoner, who has been suffering from gastritis and mild anemia, will miss the Brno, Indianapolis and Misano Adriatico rounds.

Mika Kallio will replace Stoner at the factory squad and rumours are that Ducati's World Superbike hotshot Fabrizio will join Canepa at Pramac Ducati. Perhaps that's reward for punting off Ben Spies and hampering his WSB title chances.

However Fabrizio will not be able to ride the Ducati GP bike at the Misano round due to the WSB round at the Nurburgring on the same weekend, so it's open season to see who'll replace him on the Pramac Ducati at Misano.

Ladies and gents, place your bets..

Well that really sucks!! I was looking forward to seeing him race at Indy...

That should make the championship battle a Rossi/Lorenzo two step...

I can see Pedrosa and Dovi bothering the Yamahas and potentially making the Rossi vs. Lorenzo battle more interesting than it would be if those two were left to it, but it's a shame Stoner's hit a run of bad form..

Talkback: 2014 'MotoGP' Suzuki could be next GSX-R1000
I dunno what to make of all this. If IF Suzuki do go the CRT route, I reckon it would be a bit of a shame. But I can understand the reasons,...
