Return to big bore racing the right decision, says former world champ
FORMER MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner has said the 2012 switch to 1000cc engines in MotoGP will suit his style better. At the back end of last year MotoGP rights holder Dorna, in conjunction with the FIM, announced MotoGP will return to 1000cc engines for the 2012 season, instead of the 800cc motors currently in use. "Personally it's going to suit me a lot better. Each category that I've stepped up I've found a lot easier to understand the power when I'm trying to get more traction," said Stoner."I'm actually really looking forward to the new category. When the switch came to 800s it was puzzling for myself why they did it. There's no manufacturer there that makes 800cc bikes from where to take the data from their factory bikes and put it in there."But at least now we are going back to a neutral kind of ccs and hopefully it will be a bit more fun. The racing, in some ways, was better before, but last year there were a few pretty close races and fair few battles up front."

Any rider in the paddock isn't going to release a statement saying, 'i hate 1000cc bikes and i won't be able to ride them to the best of my ability' are they?? Bit of a crap statement really especially as last time Casey rode nearly 1000cc (990cc) he fell off. A LOT!!!!
