Spies and Ianonne for second Ducati team

Spies, not going back to WSB in 2013, opting for a Ducati in MotoGP instead

BEN Spies and Moto2 rider Andrea Ianonne will be team mates in the Pramac Racing Ducati team in 2013.

The satellite team, run by Pramac Racing, currently runs one bike and one rider: Hector Barbera.

Both Spies and Ianonne - a MotoGP rookie - will be on factory-backed Desmosedicis, rather than customer machines, adding further weight to Ducati's challenge for the championship in 2013.

Spies' performance on the factory Yamaha has been poor this season . He revealed tension between himself at the team after a poor result at Mugello - a poor showing that Spies put down to food poisoning.

The one-year deal gives Spies options, Suzuki have claimed they're returning to MotoGP in 2014 or, if Spies really impresses, Hayden's contract is up at the end of 2013.

Will his fortunes change at Ducati?

Ben jumped before he was pushed..Rossi took his ride. He would have got the bullet.

Does anybody think, he didn't spit the dummy when he found out and quitting Yamaha to ride a Pramac is a good career move?

Mucho egg on face. Go and stand in the corner facing the wall.

Don't agree at all, it was clear he made his mind up a long time ago, something is very wrong in that team, I am surprised he has gone to Pramac but he is a very talented rider no doubt and it would be a shame to lose him, I'm glad he is staying and hopefully can show us again his talents even on a shit Ducati

The fight for top ducati next year is going to be intense isn't it?!

True Mobus, it'll almost be a ducati cup in there - it is this year too I guess. But they'll get better, takes a long time to develop a bike, and they have had to throw out their usual method / ideologies, trying to copy a japanese bike, but anyway, they'll get there, ducati is a heart and soul of motorbike racing, they'll be back, just dont know when.

Its a good move for Spies, he'll still have fun and he knows he should be in GP, not SBK. He'll be at the back, but thats alright. Not sure it will kill his career as it may appear. He wants to hang and make some more cash anyway for his burger joint investment. Its all pretty wierd though, not sure if Rossi would have returned to yamaha if Spies didnt jump, I dont think it was that rosy between rossi and yamnaha.

But its all worked out quite well really, all the best riders on the better bikes, first time in a while. It was a tragedy for the sport having Rossi lingering while stoner was hot - true tragedy, that would have been brilliant, but will never be. DePuniet should feel a little ripped off though. He's a better rider than CRT world. Thats all I'd complain about really for next year.

I think Pyndman is right..

As for Juvenile?? Spit his dummy out?

He's been routinely food poisoned, the clutch slips almost every race, the rear swingarm/suspension completely failed, engines are blowing up, they're taking his first born etc etc tc

And all the guy says is "I guess it's just more bad luck".. Any other rider would seriously be screwing.

So no, I don't think he has egg on his face,

It's gonna be an interesting year for Ducati next year. I'm just hope they actually listen to the 2 new (well 3) new riders they have, as they said they are going to do!!!

Dovi is pretty smooth and motivated, lets see how they go.
Iannone is a hooligan on 2 wheels. 2 contrast, 2 very motivated riders. gonna be interesting. Spies.. well.. goodluck

Something very weird has happened there, Spies was dead set on getting out of MotoGP and lots of rumours were flying around for him to join BMW in WSBK, yet he's joined Ducati instead... Sounds like a money thing, his mum probably couldn't resist!
