GRADUATING UP to the Moto2 class for 2011 Bradley Smith has raring to get race preparations underway at the upcoming test at Valencia.

Joining Tech 3 in his move to the Moto2 class Smith has been undergoing training sessions in the Californian heat alongside Cal Crutchlow, Ben Spies and the Hayden brothers. Speaking to Niall Mackenzie at a recent charity event, he said: I’m looking forward to getting back to work and to get as close as I possibly can to the competition before the first race in Qatar.”

Partnering the 2008 125GP champion Mike Di Meglio in the French Tech 3 squad, the British hopeful will ride the Mistral 610 bike developed by Guy Coulon:The team is fantastic and seem able to react quickly to any changes or requirements I have with the bike.” continued Smith, who after continue to grow will find the Moto2 machine much more spacious than the 125 Aprilia from previous seasons.

With a brimming entry list of nearly 40 riders, Smith - known for his qualifying prowess in the 125 class - identifies the need to get ahead before the race starts: “Qualifying in Moto 2 is hugely important so my goal is to be right up there in practice to give myself the best possible chance for the race,” said Bradley, “My aim is to be in the points in the opening races then build up as the season progresses.”
