SCOT HONDA Racing has announced it will not compete in MotoGP in 2010 but will still field a squad in the new Moto2 class.
The team's official statement said Honda's delay in supplying 2010 MotoGP machines had forced the squad's decision to retire from the blue riband class.
"After the happiness for the conquest of the world championship in the 250cc class for me and for the whole team this is a great disappointment, that no reward for all the work done over the years," said team manager Cirano Mularoni.
"Now we just have to concentrate on the project Moto2."
Scot's decision means next year's MotoGP grid will contain just 17 bikes.
