FEARS of radiation brought forward talk of a riders boycott of the Japanese GP but the riders are slowing coming to terms that the radiation levels are safe as Valentino Rossi announces his attendance.
Initially Rossi lead the coup, adamant that the radiation would stop him from going to Japan.
However, during the Aragon press conference Valentino Rossi confirmed that he'll be taking part in the Japanese GP at Motegi, "I will go to Japan for the race," said Rossi.
The seven-time champion makes his his decision after the confirmation that there is no danger of radiation poisoing following the independent investigation into the safety, "All the tests are negative, it looks quite safe so yes, I will go to race at Motegi.”
The report into the safety of Motegi was conducted by ARPA, who declared that “based on the estimate dose it can be said by no doubt that the radiation risk during the race event is negligible.”
