Rossi passing Stoner for second at Le Mans

THE current weather forecast for a wet Silverstone will please Valentino Rossi as the Italian has reiterated that his chances in the race are better if it rains.

Rossi is coming off the back of testing sessions at Catalunya and Aragon, which the Ducati rider believed they made some positive work towards his settings and the electronics of the Desmosedici GP12.

One area that the Ducati Desmosedici hasn't been giving the factory riders any troubles is in wet conditions, where Rossi had an encouraging performance by scoring his best result for the Italian manufacturer with second in the rain at Le Mans. At Catalunya he was able to demonstrate some potential after a closer finish to the leader, finishing seventh in the dry and more importantly 17 seconds behind the race winner Jorge Lorenzo.

“I have a one-season ‘disadvantage’ at Silverstone compared to the other riders, who started a year ahead of me, so I’ll have to ride as much as possible during the practice sessions in order to understand the track well, as last year was quite difficult," Rossi began.

"During the Aragon test last week, we found some small things with the electronics and worked a bit on the settings. Now we’ll see how it works in England. We hope I’ll be able to ride well, that we’ll find a good setup and that we can stay at the same level in the dry as we were at the Barcelona GP, although our chances will be better if it rains.”

Argggh another race I cannot stand watching. Tons of crushes and a chance of a slow rider getting on a podium. is that really what people like watching???

When will people get, that it's useless for Rossi to get points when it rains. They need dry time to advance the bike. It's a myth that few points will boost a morale to a new level. How well has that worked forthem so far???
