MOTOGP ROOKIE Marco Simoncelli has signed a new backer, in the shape of Italian denim clothing brand, Rifle.

The Tuscan company will create a special line of clothing bearing the signature of Simoncelli. The range will be named “Supersic” and will hit high street stores soon.

“I am extremely happy that an established Italian brand such as Rifle is so keen to join Marco Simoncelli on his new adventure in MotoGP and to breathe life into such a close collaboration with our team,” said the squad's boss Fausto Gresini.

“Marco Simoncelli is now a Rifle rider and we are really pleased to link up with the MotoGP team and accompany Marco on his big MotoGP adventure,” added Veronika Jans, external press relations manager for Super Rifle SpA.

Very good, Marco. But what's with the welder's mask fetish?
